Fudge Frosting
Recipe by Wendy GimpelCourse: RecipesCuisine: dessertDifficulty: EasyNow you may think this is just any ol’ run-of-the-mill frosting, but I assure you it is most definitely not.
This frosting is so famous that when I brought it to neighbors who had just had a baby, they said “they thought of having another baby just to get more brownies with that frosting.
It is so simple yet delish!
Ingredients
6 tbsp milk
6 tbsp butter
1 1/2 cups sugar
1 cup Nestle Semisweet Chocolate Chips
Directions
- Melt butter, add milk, add sugar, bring to a boil.
- When it has reached a rolling boil, (my mom would say boil hard) boil for 1 minute, remove from heat and add 1 cup of chocolate chips.
We have always used Nestle semisweet chips at my home, so that’s what I recommend! - Stir in chips until smooth, then while hot pour onto cake of your choice!
I also use this frosting to make chocolate graham cracker cookies, one of my father’s favorite treats! My mom would make them and keep some in the freezer and my dad could have them anytime he wished.
Open up the graham crackers and lay them out flat on a cookie sheet.
Pour hot frosting over layer of graham crackers and spread with an offset spatula, then top with another graham cracker and there you have it! - Cool and serve with ice cold milk!
