This is one of my favorite spots in my home. My room…ahh, I love it there. My bed, my chair, my wall color…all of it.
On my 42nd birthday, I celebrated by staying in my bed all day. Yes, all day. I know this may seem disturbing to some. At some point, my girls crawled in with me, a rare treat these days! It was amazing. We ate and laughed and wallowed in my nice, warm bed. I also like my husband in there with me, too! Well, except for the snoring part…which the Zeepa has helped with a great deal.

My room is a lovely shade of gray (SW 6205 Comfort Gray). I bought some 96-inch linen-lined curtains from Pottery Barn and a lovely polished nickel 2-inch rod to hang them on, with rings and drapery hooks. I always say that the drapes are the earrings of the room: that little touch that finishes a room off.
The marble table and scrumptious velvet chair came from a client’s home. She is also an interior designer and, much like me, likes to switch things up often/all the time. I sold her stunning—and I mean stunning—home this past summer, so I was able to find some treasures when she was moving. Her home is one of the most-pinned homes ever on Pinterest and Houzz, check it out here.
I particularly like this gold lamp. Yes, you heard me correctly, I said GOLD. So here is the deal: I have not been on a gold kick since the early 90s. I replaced all the gold in every one of my homes that I have remodeled, but this gold lamp with a new shade opened my eyes to the loveliness of gold again. It is so stately and the shine is perfect. I love mixing finishes in my home. I have touches of gold, polished nickel, antiqued nickel, oil rubbed bronze and even crystals!
The beautiful boy in the picture frame is my father, whom I miss every single day…
